1: I'll Always Want You Around (Copyright 2004)
I wrote this around 1/2004. I then took it to
ECR Studio in Anderson and recorded
the music and my vocals. I originally called
this song (I'll Always Want To Be With You)
but I later changed it. I worked with the
people at ECR to get the instrumental
sound I wanted and then I had a song.
2: We Shall Survive (Copyright 2006)
I wrote this song around 3/2002. I cannot play
an instrument, but with computers and layers
I can fake it. I used a keyboard and
played each part as I mixed it together. I recall having
a very rough time with the longer parts and
trying to play the same notes and correctly.
I somehow managed to put this together and it
remains as you hear it.
3: The Things They Say and Do (Copyright 2006)
I wrote this song in the beginning of 2006. The background music
was done with a Casio keyboard.
I was watching two little girls play, and I got to thinking of my two boys when
they were kids.
All the things they use to say and do, and how I had forgot that until the two
little girls reminded me.
4: Together (My Father and I) (Copyright 2006)
This song was also played with the Casio keyboard. This song was
written for my Dad on Father’s Day 2006.
This was the original form of the song as given to Dad on CD. The words of the
song say it all.
5: Together (My Father and I) Duo (Copyright 2006)
This song was also played with the Casio keyboard. This song was
written for my Dad on Father’s Day 2006.
The only difference from track 4 is an added vocal.
6: Heart and Soul (Copyright 2006)
The purchase of a new keyboard comes into play on this song. The
Alesis, Fusion 8HD. An awesome keyboard!
This song is approximately 14 different tracks. Some sounds are doubled on
tracks. It took a week to put this song together.
Most of which I spent learning how to move around the editing features of the
Fusion. All sounds with the exception
of my voice were done on the fusion. Now go back and listen to the Casio and
then hear the difference. This song was created
the week of July 4th, 2006.
7: A Better Man (Copyright 2006)
A song I wrote around 2004 and put music to it July 2006. I
always wanted to have music for this, but it just didn't seem the right time.
With the purchase of the Fusion, I felt it was time. Just simple
music, with a bass drum that has a slight thump on beat. This song was
written about my boys as individuals. No matter what they do, in
my heart I will always love them.
The cycle of life teaches us these things if we take notice to
them.
8: Fantasy (Copyright 2008)
A song I wrote and put to music in January of 2008. This one was
completed with the Casio keyboard. All the sounds,
except vocals were achieved with the Casio. I sang the leading
vocals then went back and added my own backing vocals.
It was just a fun song that suited the mood at the time.
9: Fly Sweet Angel (Copyright 2008)
Track 10 is the original version of this song. I re-wrote a few
of the words on March 11, 2008. This is a revised version,
made more general in memory of Suzanne Moore. A very special
friend I will never forget. Her husband (Tommy) and
her sister (Barrie) allowed this song to be played at her
funeral. She always encouraged my music and loved to listen.
I am privileged to have known Suzanne and I miss her presence.
10: Fly My Angel, Fly
(Copyright 2008)
This is the original version I wrote on March 9, & 10, 2008. I
may have chorded the music, but I can’t play a
keyboard worth a darn. Beverly Henderson is playing the Alesis keyboard
on this song. She also played keyboard for
track 9. Heck, it is the same track, keyboard wise, just slightly
changed vocals. Music is my way to express feelings and
take my mind away from our sometimes harsh realities. I hope to
take this song and add a few more instruments sometime in the future.
